Job Description
- Position: USAID/Ghana SAGES Project Management Specialist in Accra, Ghana (requires in-country travel).
- Reports to: Executive Director of Africa Education Watch.
- Duration: three years (subject to funding availability).

Eduwatch is a sub-awardee of CARE’s Strengthening Accountability in Ghana’s Education System (SAGES) Systems Strengthening Activity, which is supported by USAID. The Activity is a five-year initiative aimed at strengthening accountability in Ghana’s education system, with an emphasis on improving education system actors’ performance, education management, and public involvement. The SAGES Systems Strengthening Activity aims to improve primary education service delivery by institutionalizing accountability in Ghana’s primary education system.
Expected Outcomes
- An enabling environment for accountability is established through successful activity implementation.
- All relevant actors’ performance and interactions improved as a result of increased institutional capability to implement accountability systems at the Ministry of Education (MoE) and its agencies.
- The Ministry of Education and its agencies have improved their data management systems for accountability.
- Data sharing and utilization to improve accountability.
Eduwatch is consequently looking for a Project Management Specialist based in Accra to help with the SAGES Systems Strengthening Activity. The Project Management Specialist will oversee and organize Eduwatch’s implementation of the SAGES Systems Strengthening Activity.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the delivery of organizational development, capacity building, and institutional strengthening activities for ESIs.
- Facilitate activity planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting.
- Ensure that activities are implemented with quality.
- Collaborate with key education sector stakeholders to achieve activity outcomes.
Required Skill or Experience
Experience
- Requirements: 6-10 years of management experience on donor-funded projects, preferably in education. Experience with USAID projects is advantageous.
- Experience with multi-level stakeholder involvement.
- Excellent planning, coordination, and project management skills.
- Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
Qualification
- Master’s degree in Development Studies, Public Policy, Human Resource Development, or a similar discipline, plus at least 5 years of postgraduate experience.
