PANKO Youth Center’s purpose is to give opportunity for underprivileged children and teens to obtain the skills they need to reach their full potential. PANKO is concentrating on improving five skill sets in children and young people: foundational skills, digital skills, transferable skills, job-specific skills, and entrepreneurial abilities.
Currently, the youth center operates a preschool, after-school programs, and an ICT intervention to provide basic skills to rural school-aged children while redirecting their energy and time away from social vices in order to elevate them out of extreme poverty. These interventions will increase education and job creation opportunities for underprivileged youngsters in rural areas around the region.
Job Description
PANKO Youth Center is looking for two eager teachers/facilitators to join its team. The responsibilities entail working with preschool and after-school children to help them develop literacy, numeracy, digital literacy, and other important life skills.
Position 1: Teacher/Facilitator with Accounting Skills
- Teach literacy skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) to preschoolers and after-school students.
- Aside from teaching, keep financial records and execute basic accounting activities with Excel.
- Help preschoolers and after-school children with their learning and development.
Position 2: A teacher/facilitator with ICT and coding skills
- Teach literacy skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) to preschoolers and after-school students.
- Maintain and repair computers at the ICT lab.
- Teach children how to code and use fundamental computer abilities.
- Both positions necessitate a strong desire to work with children and a dedication to promoting their intellectual and personal development.
Required Skill or Experience
For Teachers/Facilitators with Accounting Skills:
- Minimum qualification: A diploma in accounting or finance.
- Excel proficiency is required for accounting duties.
- Experience teaching or a desire to teach literacy to children as young as preschoolers.
- Have worked with children as young as preschoolers.
For teachers and facilitators with ICT and coding skills:
- Minimum qualification: A diploma in IT/ICT or a related field.
- Experience with computer maintenance and basic coding knowledge.
- Experience teaching or a desire to teach literacy to children as young as preschoolers.
- Have worked with children as young as preschoolers.
General Requirements For Both Positions:
Fluent in English.
- I am passionate about dealing with children and supporting their growth.
