POSITION: Head of Accounting
Job Description.
Our international client, who deals in Fast-Moving Consumable Goods (FMCG), is searching for an experienced Head of Accounting to join the team. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing all accounting department activities, including the supervision and management of general accounting activities, financial analyses, developing strategies, advising on sales plans, and maintaining effective internal controls while ensuring statutory compliance in all accounting initiatives.
Responsibilities.
- Prepare financial statements, activity reports, and predictions.
- Liaise with HR to prepare monthly payroll and employee slips.
- Coordinate with the warehouse manager to check stock values during all periodic audits.
- Work with internal and external auditors to ensure that the organization’s financial records and record-keeping systems are under applicable standards and requirements.
- Manage workers and HODs who are in charge of financial reporting and budgeting.
- Periodically check the organization’s financial data to find cost-cutting options.
- Analyze data and advise senior management on ways to increase earnings.
- Analyze market trends to discover areas for growth/expansion.
- Supervise team members’ actions to ensure efficiency and timeliness.
- Ensure that all sales proceeds are correctly managed by coordinating with the Sales and Marketing Department.
- Consult with the HR Department on training and recruitment needs.
- Any other duties that may be assigned.
Requirements
- Must hold a degree in accounting, business administration, commerce, or a similar subject.
- You must have at least five (5) years of experience in the same or related role.
- Professional qualification in ICAG or ACCA is required.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Outstanding organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, team-playing, and time management abilities.
- Possess working knowledge of accounting software (ERP, SAP, SAGE).
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office software suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
