POSITION: Legal Counsel

Nestlé CWA is currently seeking a Legal Counsel for our Nestle Central and West Africa Office, who will ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations affecting the company’s operations; advise the business on legal issues involving internal and external stakeholders; and collaborate with external solicitors to protect the business’s interests in litigation.
Responsibilities:
- You will prepare or examine legal documents and represent the company in legal meetings.
- Advise the Board and the company on ethical issues, conflicts of interest, and good corporate governance.
- Diligently prosecute litigation involving the company by engaging/coordinating all relevant external parties (solicitors, ministries/government agencies) to safeguard the company’s interests.
- Manage relationships with regulatory authorities, government agencies, shareholders, and their associations, and successfully hold statutory meetings.
- Establish effective corporate governance processes with the Board and Management of shareholders, as well as their associations, to give a positive view of the company’s corporate governance.
- Prevent the government and/or regulatory agencies from imposing punishment against the company for failing to comply with applicable laws.
- Successfully hold statutory meetings for the company in compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
