Job Summary:
This job is fully accountable for managing and leading the entire people value chain, as well as implementing and localizing the Finco Group HR strategy, standards, and frameworks that support Mobile Money Ltd’s objectives. In addition, this person will guide on all human capital-related matters, counsel, and ensure HR governance and compliance while contributing to the organization’s overall strategic direction.

Job Role
Strategy Development and Implementation
- As a member of the Executive team, you will help set the business’s strategic direction, specifically ensuring that the People strategy, policies, programs, and processes support the company’s strategic goals.
- Lead the creation of the HR strategy per the Group Fintech HR vision.
- Lead the coordination of cultural transformation and employee involvement throughout the organization.
- Create a strong employee brand to promote Mobile Money Ltd as an employer of choice.
- Mitigating risk by ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation-driven country requirements.
- Provide vision and leadership for the creation of a cost-effective business unit using precise forecasting and financial management.
- Collaboration with business functions to ensure HR operational efficiency and alignment across all parts of the organization.
- Ensures robust and consistent HR capital reporting, as well as compliance with Group Fintech requirements.
Governance
- Initiate and hold strategic meetings to guarantee meaningful involvement and direction for the various People conversations.
- Implement proper risk mitigation and controls.
- Ensure approval for new efforts.
- Review and finalise objectives, targets, and budgets, as well as sanction and/or get appropriate funding for internal people-related projects.
- Authorise and/or get approval for ideas for change efforts.
- Evaluate areas for improvement in people, processes, and technology.
Escalations
- Manage and resolve issues that will have a significant time, scope, productivity, cost, or resource effect.
- Resolve and provide advice on escalating concerns.
Performance
- Monitor and ensure that the executed strategy aligns with the Group Business strategy and industry best practices.
- Monitor the business performance of the HR Partnering streams/verticals against agreed-upon targets, and take remedial action as needed.
- Evaluate business plans as tools for ongoing improvement.
Budgets
- Oversee divisional budgets.
- Create the environment for successful cost control within each Division.
- Oversee project initiative budgets by the defined delegation of authority and approvals.
- Drive actions to reduce operational costs following a least-cost operating strategy based on business drivers.
Operational Delivery
- Contribute to decision-making for the yearly business plan, service delivery, performance monitoring, and business performance management.
- Provide planning and advice for the development of capabilities.
- Responsible for creating the processes and support systems needed to attract, retain, and grow a qualified workforce that reflects the demographics of the country.
- Responsible for creating the remuneration plan and ensuring that the Employee Value Proposition is implemented to foster a high-performance culture.
- Responsible for the personnel management lifecycle strategy, employee performance, and well-being as MML.
- Lead the integration of HR strategy and practices across many business functions.
- Ensures that HR Information Systems are used as efficiently and effectively as possible for administration and reporting.
- Lead all people transformation activities and assist the business to ensure a smooth staff transition occurs.
- Coordinate and collaborate with key business areas to foster a culture of transformation and employee engagement at MML.
Education
- Minimum of a postgraduate qualification. Requirements: MBA or Master’s degree, HR Professional membership, and relevant experience.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a similar Human Resources function.
- Management experience of at least 5 years in a multinational/global/digital context (Telcos/FMCGs)
- Extensive experience in transformation and change management.
- Strategic workforce planning—(talent, workforce planning, succession planning, skills evaluation, competencies, etc.)
- Strong employee relations and wellness experience.
- Work across several cultures and regions.
Knowledge
- Capability to think creatively and devise non-traditional human solutions to complicated business problems.
- Comprehensive understanding of Ghana labour law and related people management legal and governance.
- Demonstrated experience creating and implementing effective people strategies.
- Strong understanding of global business-people best practices and trends.
