Job Description
MSI RCL Ghana is looking for passionate, well-organized, client-oriented, and enthusiastic individuals with the following qualifications and experience in Accra. MSI RCL Ghana’s mission is to satisfy the needs of the underserved and increase access to Family Planning (FP) and other Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) services. The Locum Centre Midwife will be in charge of providing high-quality core MSI RCL Ghana clinical services at the designated centre of excellence. The job will be based in Tamale. The duties and responsibilities listed below may alter as the centre’s activities evolve and expand over time.
Key Responsibilities:
Partnership and Network Building.
- Assist in managing the work schedules and strengths of the clinical teams operating in the centres.
- Encourage a dedication to supporting clients’ particular needs, such as flexible working hours, tight privacy, and secrecy, to increase demand for MSI RCL Ghana services.
- Perform public relations and promotional activities with coworkers, GHS, and the public.
- Identify suitable training needs within centre teams and, in cooperation with the Centre Manager, prepare for necessary trainings and new team induction.
- Timely collect and submit incident reports to the centre manager.
- Monitor monthly centre outcomes and, in consultation with the Centre Manager, make necessary suggestions to reach defined targets.
Locum Centre Midwifery Duties
- MSI RCL Ghana offers both core and non-core clinical services, such as IUCD, implant insertion, MSP, and MSMP.
- Assist with clinical trainings at the centre level.
- Professional handling of consumer complaints and/or clinical incidents in the centre
- Ensure adequate and timely requisition of items, inventory management, and record keeping.
- Ensure that the centre and its environs are always kept tidy, net, and clean.
- Promote and maintain a warm, courteous, professional, and efficient environment for all clients in the centre to ensure client satisfaction at all times.
- Responsibilities include carrying out legitimate duties assigned by the Centre Manager.
Communication and Administration
- Keep and manage records of all centre activities, including minutes from centre team meetings.
- Ensure that all formal communications with various health partners are appropriately documented.
- Follow up on all client complaints about any of the MSIG services and provide recommendations.
- Make effective use of available information systems in MSI to facilitate service delivery and training.
- Assist the Marketing Team with interviews on clinical concerns to defend MSIG’s reputation.
- Ensure effective management and accounting of all MSIG resources and properties in the center.
Knowledge, Skill, and Experience
To be successful in this role, you need:
- To be eligible, candidates must be registered with a local clinical professional body in Ghana and hold a recognized midwifery qualification.
- Must have the necessary experience to work with minimum supervision.
- At least one year of post-graduate experience in a midwifery role.
- A business mindset to expand clinics and meet predetermined targets.
- Experience working in Sexual and Reproductive Health, with strong provider-client relationship skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Work experience in the Ghana Health Service and/or an INGO
- Articulate and analytical, with attention to detail.
- Understanding Ghana’s health-care delivery system
- Requirements: Multi-skilled, concerned about maternal health, and experience working with minimal supervision.
- Compassionate towards women and men seeking Family Planning and Reproductive Health services.
- Capable of working independently for extended periods of time.
- Customer-focused with good interpersonal skills to engage with individuals at all levels—government, donor, and community. Encourages team members to provide high-quality service and results.
- Team player, self-motivated, and capable of motivating others to achieve achievements.
