POSITION: Chief Operations Officer
Miro Forestry & Timber Products, founded in 2010, sells plywood, edge-glued panels, CCA-treated poles, and other forest products to West African and international partners. Miro, based in the UK, delivers high-quality products from its sustainable timber plantations and factories in West Africa.
Job Description
The Chief Operations Officer will run the Ghana and Sierra Leone business segments. The CEO, CFO, CSO, and CCO will collaborate with the COO to maximize shareholder value and Miro’s potential. Duties:
Manage firm operations versus budgeted goals and risk. This includes all company operations (industrial, nursery, R&D, silviculture, harvesting, transportation, workshop, HR, environmental, health and safety, business administration and relations).
Responsibilities
- Track project status, progress, and issues.
- Establish performance and growth objectives.
- Increase productivity and utilization to reach organizational goals.
- Create company culture and vision policies.
- Supporting recruitment to attract top talent, develop future leaders, and reduce employee turnover.
- To aid leadership decision-making, cut costs.
- Promote the CEO-aligned culture.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Ideally 15-20 years of executive leadership with P+L responsibilities.
- Expertise in operational excellence in processing environments
- Multisite management, ideally across counties
- Emotionally intelligent and culturally adaptable
- Large-project change management and influencing.
- Excellent team leadership, coaching, and organizational development
- Fluent English (written and conversational) is required.
