Matsumae International Foundation Scholarship 2023–2024 (Japan) FULLY FUNDED
Applications are now being accepted for the FULLY FUNDED Matsumae International Foundation Scholarship in Japan for the academic years 2023–24. Students who wish to enroll in Fellowship-level programs at Japanese universities may apply for a scholarship.
Description of the scholarship:
A non-profit organization called the Matsumae International Foundation was founded in Japan in 1979 with the goal of fostering cross-cultural and academic contact on a global scale.
The foundation provides the Matsumae International Foundation Research Fellowship program, a special chance for academics from all around the world to carry out research in Japan. Researchers in the humanities and social sciences are welcome to apply, as are those working in the natural sciences, engineering, and medical fields.
SWITZERLAND’S CERN ADMINISTRATIVE STUDENT PROGRAM 2023 (FULLY FUNDED)
For a period of three to six months, the Matsumae International Foundation Research Fellowship offers a grant of up to 300,000 yen per month, covering travel, lodging, and research expenditures in Japan. Additionally, fellows are given access to research facilities and the chance to go to academic conferences and cultural gatherings.
The initiative seeks to encourage international cooperation and increase understanding between Japan and other nations while also giving researchers from various fields significant research opportunities.

Natural science, engineering, and medical research are prioritized over all others.

- Open to all nationalities of overseas students.
Eligibility Requirements
The following prerequisites must be met in order for applicants of non-Japanese nationality to submit their application materials.
- Prior to applying, candidates must secure an invitation (acceptance) letter from a Japanese host institution.
- Candidates must hold a doctoral degree or a Ph.D.
- Those applying must be 49 years old or younger at the time of submission.
- Applicants must be proficient in either the English or Japanese languages.
- Applicants should not currently or in the past have lived in Japan (except for brief visits for conferences or touring),
- Applicants must work in their home countries, commit to returning there after their fellowship is up, and work to advance their own nations’ economies.
