POSITION: Quality Assurance Manager
Legendary Foods is looking for a highly qualified and experienced Quality Manager to manage all aspects of quality assurance and control at our cookie and condiment manufacturing facility. The ideal applicant will be a results-oriented leader with a track record of managing effective quality systems, ensuring product quality and safety, and driving continuous improvement.
The Quality Manager will play a crucial role in developing quality processes such as raw material validation, in-process controls, completed product testing, and corrective measures to ensure product conformance to specifications. You will work cross-functionally to improve production efficiency while maintaining quality excellence as the business grows.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of at least seven workers to prepare products, ensure product quality, and manage inventory. Dispose of non-conforming inventory: reject, rework, or accept with variance.
- Integrate consumer complaints and comments into quality enhancements.
- Promote food safety culture through training and awareness.
- Develops, executes, and maintains processes to guarantee that goods satisfy the needed criteria for quality, function, and dependability before delivery.
- Identifies and establishes quality standards for goods. Analyzes issues, bugs, defects, and suggests solutions for recurring problems across numerous products.
- Establish, implement, and maintain food safety systems.
- Train and retrain processing staff; apply food safety protocol changes throughout a team and departments.
- Review client, customer, and user feedback.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, municipal, and organizational laws, rules, guidelines, and policies
- Performing quality control inspections and updating quality assurance documentation.
- Collaborate with laboratories to conduct necessary lab testing.
- Document and organize information about health and safety incidents, quality management system protocols, protocol updates, and customer feedback.
- Innovate packaging innovations to increase the shelf life of all SKUs.
- Innovate procedure to optimize efficiency of staff, ingredients, and time.
- Support product development staff and business development operations.
Required Skill or Experience
- Requirements for the position include a degree in food science and technology, food processing engineering, or a similar discipline, as well as 5+ years of experience in the food and beverage business and excellent leadership skills.
- A solid awareness of food safety principles
- Conducting food quality control checks and maintaining quality assurance documents.
- Implementation of food quality management systems like HACCP and ISO.
- Strong problem-solving skills regarding food processing, quality, and safety issues.
- Strong ability to use Word and Excel
- Must have managed a team for at least 12 months.
- Must have great verbal and oral communication skills.
- Requirements for this position include written and electronic reporting, as well as familiarity with customer service.
- Must be self-disciplined and possess high integrity.
- Food Safety Certifications
- Ability to work with little or no supervision.
