POSITION: Risk & Compliance Officer

ROLE OVERVIEW
This is a full-time in-person position for a Risk & Compliance Officer based in Accra. The candidate will be tasked with recognizing, evaluating, and overseeing risks within the company. This encompasses possessing a thorough comprehension of risk management methods, auditing procedures, and regulatory standards within the sector. The chosen applicant will be essential in upholding operational integrity and safeguarding the company’s reputation by employing proactive risk management and compliance strategies.
MAIN DUTIES
- Make sure every department adheres to all legal and regulatory obligations.
- Make sure the organization upholds sufficient operational risk.
- Make certain the organization adheres to all internal policies and procedures.
- Recognize and assess risks and compliance concerns within the organization.
- Perform routine audits and inspections to verify compliance with standards.
- Create reports that outline the areas of risk and offer suggestions for risk mitigation.
- Aid in the creation and execution of strategies for mitigating risks.
MAIN DUTIES
- Observe and provide feedback on the efficiency of compliance initiatives.
- Offer training to staff on the newest risk management and compliance guidelines.
- Keep informed about alterations in regulatory standards and legislation relevant to the business.
- Collaborate with other divisions to foster a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
Necessary Skills or Experience
- Demonstrated experience as a Risk and Compliance Officer or a comparable position.
- Understanding of legal obligations and regulations (e.g. Anti-Money Laundering, or AML).
- Knowledge of sector norms and professional benchmarks.
- The capability to function autonomously and collaboratively within a group.
- Outstanding communication and people skills. Honesty and work-related morals.
- Collaboration abilities. Focus on specifics.
- Having a professional certification, such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), is advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in legal studies, finance, business management, risk assessment, or a similar discipline.
