POSITION: Service Engineer
Sandvik Rock Processing Solutions is a global leader in the mining and construction industries, providing equipment, tools, spares, services, and solutions for rock and mineral processing. Our three divisions, Stationary Crushing & Screening, Mobile Crushing & Screening, and Attachment Tools, operate in the mining and construction industries. Our Sandvik breaking (Attachments Tools), crushing, and screening equipment is designed to maximize production.
The Service Engineer would be in charge of ensuring a safe working environment by contributing to job safety analyses, engineering technical standards, facility standards, and work practices.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for ensuring a safe working environment through contributions to job safety analysis, engineering technical standards, facility standards, and work practices.
- Customer training and efficient technical support for all SMC crushing, screening, and materials handling products delivered to customers in West Africa.
- Supervise the installation and commissioning of Sandvik’s crushing and screening equipment.
- Guide and help various teams in fault identification on Sandvik Mining and Construction
- Crushing and Screening equipment.
- Repair and troubleshoot utilizing hydraulic and electrical schematic diagrams.
- Collaborate closely with the sales team to increase crushing and screening aftermarket parts sales.
- Provide meaningful input to help improve maintenance planning in terms of efficiency and equipment integrity.
- Aim to meet the KPIs you’ve set.
- Follow all SMC policies and procedures, particularly the health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Complete all tasks within the budget and schedule constraints that have been established.
Qualification
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics with three years of experience, or an equivalent trade certificate with five years of experience and demonstrated management / supervisory experience in a maintenance setting.
- Knowledge of instrumentation and automation is advantageous.
- Knowledge of hydro cone/jaw crushers and screens, as well as mechanical, electrical, and hydraulics, would be advantageous.
- Driving a manual vehicle requires at least a B license.
- Outstanding communication and presenting skills in both English and French.
- Professional reporting abilities in English and French are essential.
- Ability to function as a member of a multidisciplinary team and provide guidance to other team members.
- Strong business sense.
- Previous supervisory experience would be advantageous.
- Regular customer visits with a strong customer emphasis.
- Some amount of computer proficiency would be advantageous.
