ROLE: IT Representative – Tech

The IT representative’s responsibility is to support and maintain the reliability of Jumia’s software systems on a national scale. In this post, you will be in charge of ensuring that our software solutions are used correctly and managing the on-boarding and off-boarding processes of local users for manual tasks. You will also be in charge of installing and training users on newly developed and current products, as well as quickly debugging any unusual circumstances or issues that may arise within the existing software systems.
Principal Responsibilities:
Compliance
- Ensure that the SOPs and compliance requirements, as specified centrally by the operational excellence and internal control teams, are followed.
- Change current SOPs and compliance standards to increase provisioning/deprovisioning efficiency on Jumia Software Products.
- Prepare documentation and training materials for Jumia software product onboarding and offboarding.
- Conduct training sessions and exams for new users to verify that software items are used correctly.
Implementation
- Prepare documentation and training materials for new product advancements, as well as train users who will be affected.
- Aid in the verification of new product development requests and the testing of new product developments prior to launch. Lead the implementation of new product developments and the request for system upgrades.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any systematic or unusual issues with software products.
Troubleshooting
- Using existing ticketing systems, document the existence and resolution of issues.
- Issues affecting/blocking local business processes that necessitate central intervention
Qualifications and skills preferred:
- Project management and cross-team communication abilities are required.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- E-commerce and IT operations experience with Python, HTML, SQL, CSS, Javascript, Google Suite, and MS Office
- Experience with IT operations, web development, and help desk support
