POSITION: Packaging Manager

About the position:
- To successfully guide and oversee the site packaging team in order to meet the department’s overall goals.
- Comply with the regulations and oversight necessary for packaging activities.
- Accountable for the accomplishments of the overall goals of the packaging department.
- Plan and oversee the yearly departmental budget.
- Accountable for the efficient functioning and upkeep of the packaging facility to achieve maximum capacity.
- Overseeing the complete packaging team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Regularly emphasize and express that Safety is our top priority.
- Act as a visible advocate for safety by always exhibiting safe behaviours and consistently addressing unsafe practices and actions of others, providing corrective feedback when necessary.
- Follow the site safety regulations and the operational procedures for systems and equipment without any deviation.
- Execute AOP Enact the asset maintenance and optimal plant strategy of the packaging division.
- Examine work instructions to enhance process control for adherence to analytical specifications above 95% and maintain infection rates below 10%.
- Enhance fundamental abilities of shift managers, operators, and technicians in the direction of multi-skilling.
- Oversees complete line accountability, which includes direct responsibility for training, mentoring, and assisting team members and contractors, while also indirectly supervising maintenance tasks.
- Engage with relevant departmental managers to guarantee that target volumes are met with the correct quality and timing, while also maintaining optimal costs.
Experience / skills needed:
- Strong Honours Degree in Science/Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in the manufacturing sector.
- An individual with the Dip/MB from the IBD will be valuable.
- Demonstrated effective first-line management abilities.
