POSITION: Retail Program Manager
The Retail Programs Manager is essential for the success of retail operations by guaranteeing the smooth implementation of projects across different countries. They are responsible for overseeing and reporting on the condition of the Retail Operations program, partnering with country teams to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget, and proactively tackling risks with efficient mitigation strategies.
Serving as a crucial connection between the Strategy Transformation team and Country Retail teams, the manager guarantees the prompt sharing of information and updates while creating initiatives that enhance the value propositions for dealers and customers. Moreover, they monitor the success of these proposals, guaranteeing that countries provide top-tier services, all while reflecting Puma Energy’s fundamental values and cooperative methodologies.

Functions:
Retail Initiatives
- Creation, oversight, and implementation of the national retail network strategy in alignment with the retail business plan. Assessment, creation, implementation, and management of all retail initiatives.
- Profit and Loss Optimization: Evaluate and question the retail station profit and loss statements provided by the Territory Managers.
- Training: Determine the training needs and serve as the main point of contact for implementing all Retail Training, Retail Excellence, and Station Operational Excellence requirements and delivery.
- FMCG Research: Collect research and create implementation plans with the Country Retail Manager.
- Customer Research: Recognize and evaluate the essential elements of customer behaviour to enhance marketing understanding.
- Verify that all retail locations, leases, and contracts are legitimate and adequately documented according to regulations.
- Guarantee timely and efficient project delivery, create and monitor a transparent delivery process in conjunction with the construction and procurement teams.
Convenience Retail and Non-Fuel Services
- Authority on the creation and execution of the Convenience Retail Strategy.
- Ghana’s focal point for Retail Non-Fuel Retail (NFR) focuses on Convenient Retail initiatives, overseeing management (Volumetric and Financial Goals) and the growth and advancement of non-fuel prospects.
- Oversee connections, agreements, and revenue from non-fuel retail operations.
- Accountable for developing business cases for all capital investment projects and implementing disposal strategies, while ensuring timely approval and execution.
Advertising and Publicity
- Assist the Regional Marketing team in creating and executing a Retail Marketing Plan for the country while serving as the primary contact for local Marketing activities, including interaction with agencies.
- Collaborate with the Puma Lubricants team to implement marketing campaigns and initiatives.
- Brand Value and Recognition Initiatives
HSSE and Adherence
- Making sure that all retail locations possess valid licenses, permits, and adhere to regulatory standards.
- Make certain that all HSSE KPIs are achieved and routinely assessed with the Compliance team for execution.
Main Duties:
- Retail Programs: Achieve excellence in assisting the retail division (Fuels, Lubricants, and Non-Fuel) in identifying and securing new network locations (NTIs and NTPs) according to the national network strategy.
- Retail Programs: Provide exceptional support to the retail department through supply/lease agreement renewals and disposal strategies.
- Retail Initiatives: Optimizing chances within the current network while meeting HSSE, Financial, and Operational objectives.
- Retail Initiatives: To guarantee that goals concerning Real Estate and Retail Community programs are met.
- Retail Operations: To guarantee complete adherence to company policies and procedures during the execution of land/property acquisitions, new constructions, renovations, renewals, enhancements, and disposal initiatives.
- Convenience Retail: Accountable for (Business Case creation) for all capital investment projects and implementation of disposal strategies.
- Retail Projects: Monitor project execution in close collaboration with Operations/Construction, Finance, Procurement, and Retail teams. Regular meetings with all relevant partners and departments to comprehend issues and seek solutions for delivering projects punctually, safely, and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Retail Initiatives: Evaluation of Retail projects after investment and assistance in addressing any discrepancies found between expected and actual results.
Requirements
Mandatory Education:
- Higher education in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or FMCG-related fields.
Encounter:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in retail management.
- Experience in the fuel sector, project management, and network development is beneficial.
- Knowledge and expertise in management analysis and reporting.
Abilities:
- English and the native language.
- Strong understanding of business and financial concepts.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office.
