POSITION: Quality Control Inspector – Subsea Production System

Job Purpose

As a Quality Control Inspector, you will The Quality Control Inspector report to the Site Quality Lead and be in charge of receiving inspection, in-process inspection, and final release inspection operations, as well as the creation and maintenance of such records in line with prescribed requirements. The Quality Control Inspector witnesses and verifies equipment undergoing acceptance testing, and he or she evaluates the results of such tests to ensure conformity with requirements.

Responsibilities

As a Quality Control Inspector, you’ll be accountable for:

  • Maintaining product quality through rigorous inspection processes.
  • Inspecting new manufacturer-supplied parts, supplier-repaired/refurbished parts, and intra-company-supplied components, including accompanying paperwork, to ensure conformity with specified technical requirements mentioned in applicable drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Inspecting components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and supporting paperwork to ensure conformity with Baker Hughes requirements and standards.
  • Performing inspection activities at supplier premises or other off-site locations, as required.
  • Creating and keeping accurate records of inspection operations.
  • Using, regulating, and caring for inspection metrology equipment, as well as ensuring that such devices are properly calibrated.
  • Systematic follow-up on assembly and refurbishment activities using ITPs and other paperwork to ensure effective control.
  • Nonconforming products are identified, controlled, and reported using Non-Conformance Management (NCM).
  • Identifying and driving continuous improvement possibilities.
  • Participates in root cause analysis, nonconformance analysis, customer issue resolution analysis, and other continuous improvement activities with the goal of lowering quality costs, improving on-time delivery, and increasing customer satisfaction.
  • Always adhering to and complying with company and regulatory Quality management system requirements.
  • Always adhere to and comply with the company’s and regulatory HSE standards and expectations.
  • Carrying out any additional allocated tasks as needed.

Fuel your passion

To succeed in this role, you must:

  • A bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or college.
  • Have at least three years of experience in a comparable quality function within the oil and gas business.
  • Detailed understanding of inspection and metrology techniques and processes.
  • Have a solid understanding of manufacturing designs, geometric and dimensional tolerances, and specifications.
  • Have knowledge and experience with applicable company and industry standards.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the requirements for controlling monitoring and measurement devices.
  • Has an engineering background, such as a qualified mechanical or electrical technician
  • Familiar with industry standards such as API and NORSOK.
  • Capable of producing brief and detailed reports on inspection findings.
  • Familiar with using Microsoft Office apps
  • Experienced and knowledgeable about the needs of formal Quality Management Systems and standards such as ISO 9001:2015, API Q1, and API Q2.
  • Have product knowledge of subsea equipment in order to maximize performance.
  • Be an experienced problem solver who takes a thorough approach to resolving complex client issues.
  • Have the ability to read and understand routine instructions.
  • Have strong IT and technical skills, as well as the ability to conduct simple mathematical computations.
  • Have an understanding of HSE regulations and the ability to follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Work in a method that suits you.
