POSITION: Ghana Airport Manager

Job Summary

Our Airport Managers lead our global operations. Their job is varied, just like the customers we help and the places we fly to. You will have the freedom to manage your Airport like your own business while following the company’s rules. You will be responsible for meeting challenging goals related to safety, security, customer service, on-time performance, and finances. Also, you will need to manage several suppliers closely and make sure they provide good service for British Airways and our customers. If there are any problems, you should fix them quickly and effectively. Work with important groups for British Airways, like government departments, airport operators, and suppliers.

What You Will Do

  • Make sure your airports follow the best safety rules and regulations. This includes sticking to all the necessary guidelines and helping with the airline’s safety system.
  • Make sure audits are done, and any necessary follow-up is done quickly.
  • Make sure all customers get the best service everywhere they interact with us and that any problems are fixed quickly and properly.
  • Make sure your airports are on time each year and help improve how well your whole group operates.
  • Make sure your airport is ready for problems by having plans to keep things running and deal with emergencies.
  • Making sure the airport has what it needs to serve our customers well.
  • You are responsible for how team members do their jobs at your airports. Make sure your teams have the authority to make decisions that help customers and improve operations.
  • Make sure your airport’s yearly financial plan follows BA’s financial rules and is completed on time.
  • Help with buying things for your airports.
  • Lead and oversee investigations related to safety, security, people, customers, internal control, and operations.
  • Look for ways to make our services better and start ideas that can help us make more money.
  • Help organize local changes by following the company’s rules for managing change.
  • Manage the connections between British Airways and important groups like Ground Handling Suppliers, Airport Authorities, Airport Operators Council, local and government officials, British Embassies, and High Commissions.
  • Make sure that you keep in touch with both people inside and outside the company and be the person who gathers information for British Airways in your area.
  • Keeping systems current and showing the real situation of your area.
  • Talk clearly and quickly with the Senior Vice President, Regional General Manager, and Network Operations when needed about any possible or real problems in operations, always keeping the customer’s best interests in mind.
  • Filling in for the Regional Airport Manager and other Airport Managers when needed.

  • Sets a good example of the service standards and work behaviours expected from all team members and partners, whether they are inside or outside the company.
  • Experience in overseeing and holding suppliers and people responsible.
  • Always show a professional attitude, honesty, and a good personality.
  • Has great skills in leading and managing people.
  • Managing how well each person in a team is doing their job, including helping those who are not doing well.
  • Cooperating with worker groups like unions and employee councils.
  • The ability to read and understand financial reports and turn that information into actions.
  • Shows adaptability, enthusiasm, determination, and a readiness to work unusual hours independently.
  • Is someone who makes choices and solves problems, even when they don’t have all the information and have to work quickly.
  • Wants to grow, learn new things, and do everything really well.
  • Shows good communication, persuasion, and negotiation skills in various situations.
  • Knows how things work at the airport, both in the air and on the ground.
  • Understanding the rules and regulations that apply in an airport setting.
  • Experience in managing or leading change using well-known change management methods.

Your Experience:

  • Good ability to speak and write in English.
  • Must be able to get an airside pass.
  • Have a solid understanding of Microsoft Office (O365).
  • Past experience working at an airport
