The PATH Malaria, Neglected Tropical Diseases initiative leads the fight to end malaria infections and deaths. It improves tools, invests in national programs, and gathers data to help national governments eliminate malaria.
PATH has extensive experience creating breakthrough malaria elimination tools and methods and could lead global eradication efforts. Additionally, PATH’s Center for Malaria Control and Elimination (CMCE) coordinates expertise and programming with PATH and key partners to maximize malaria elimination.
PATH is looking for two drivers for the USAID-funded REACH Malaria global project, which aims to reach every at-risk community and household with malaria services. REACH aims to provide countries with implementation support services and technical assistance to accelerate progress in the comprehensive delivery of facility and community-based malaria services, such as malaria case management, malaria prevention in pregnancy (MiP), seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC), health system strengthening, data collection and use for service delivery, and other malaria prevention interventions.
The Driver will report to the Finance and Grants Manager and will be in charge of transporting project personnel, counterparts, consultants, and other visitors to project locations, workshops/meetings, and other activities. The Driver will also perform or arrange maintenance services and ensure that the project cars are clean and in good functioning order.
Responsibilities:
- Transporting project workers, counterparts, consultants, and visitors to project sites, workshops/meetings, and local events.
- Ensure passenger safety by politely reminding them of safety precautions while in the car.
- Performing or scheduling maintenance services and ensuring that project vehicles are clean and in good functioning order.
- Following up on vehicle maintenance regulations and licenses, and providing suggestions to the Finance Officer on necessary steps.
- Report suspected car failures or concerns.
- Using the office account, ensure that vehicles always have enough fuel.
- Maintaining a vehicle/driver logbook.
- Updating all car documentation and verifying insurance.
- Running project office errands, such as document delivery, mailing, banking, customs clearing, bill payments, and office supply purchasing, as needed.
Required skills and experience:
- Basic knowledge/experience with car maintenance is essential.
- A minimum of five years of experience working for international non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
- Must possess a valid and clean driver’s license.
- Self-motivated, polite, and humble individual.
- Proven ability to operate under pressure and the willingness to work outside of typical business hours if needed.
- Collaborate and communicate well with team members, and demonstrate your ability to work in a team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and at least one local language are preferred.
