POSITION OBJECTIVE
Serendipalm Co. Ltd. operates Ghana’s only palm oil commercial project with smallholders and a “traditional” Rural palm oil Mill.
The project supplies several brands in Europe and the U.S., is organic and fair trade certified and has a positive impact on rural development in the Eastern Region.
Serendipalm is recruiting a Marketing Intern to contribute to the overall success of the business by effectively planning and undertaking marketing activities.
The objective of this position is to ensure that the marketing efforts of Serendipalm adds the highest value to its business. The incumbent would work directly with the Market Development Supervisor.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the researching domestic production and marketing cycles, locations and logistics for defined DAF crops.
- Support in the identification of local marketing opportunities.
- Organize logistical and transportation arrangements for farmers.
- Support farmers to improve access to local markets.
- Contribute to the reporting on the project and administrative tasks.
- Support the market development supervisor to create marketing campaigns on DAF crops, new products and with their execution.
- Creating and developing new innovative ways to communicate the Company’s message to farmers and communities.
- Contributing to the development of the annual sales and marketing plan.
- Provide input for the planning and project managing marketing events.
- Support in the conduct of monitoring and evaluation of effective marketing activities in rural and urban areas in Ghana and neighbouring countries.
- Assist in developing and implementing an internal marketing programme for DAF crops and new products of the Company.
- Assist in implementing day to day marketing activities of the Company.
- Assist in planning, developing and delivering campaigns as agreed within timescales for DAF crops and new products of the Company.
- Undertake other duties that may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- First degree in marketing, business administration or related field.
- At least 2 years’ working experience as marketing officer or similar role.
- Experience in the agribusiness field.
- Appreciable knowledge of marketing techniques and principles.
- Good understanding of market research techniques.
- Thorough knowledge of digital marketing strategies, tools and web analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to use digital and social media platforms to engage in marketing.
- Good organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Good written and spoken communication in Twi and English are a must.
- Willingness to relocate full time to Asuom, Eastern Region.
- A team player with a customer-oriented approach.
- Excellent knowledge and ability to use MS Office Suite.
The offer will be on a 1 year renewable contract, subject to good performance and availability of funds. Remuneration will be based on qualification and experience and commensurate with industry standards.
