POSITION: Senior Project Planner

About the Position 

This is a contract on-location (Ahafo Kenyasi) position for a French-speaking Senior Project Planner at Berves Engineering Limited in the Ahafo Region of Ghana. The Bilingual Senior Project Planner will handle the planning and scheduling of project tasks, manage project oversight, and guarantee efficient communication with our French-speaking subcontractors and on-site labour. The position entails monitoring project schedules, evaluating project advancement, and collaborating with different teams to guarantee successful project execution and delivery.

The perfect applicant should have the ability to communicate in both French and English fluently, both in speech and writing.

Duties

  • Engage regularly with maintenance staff and production supervisors, helping to make sound choices that reduce downtimes and enhance productivity.
  • Represent Berves in all meetings with its French-speaking clients to provide translation services.
  • Collaborate closely with the General Foremen and supervisors to guarantee that projects are progressing on schedule.
  • Collaborate with the Auditors to guarantee profitability.
  • Make sure that the reasons for downtime and comments are properly documented.
  • Record accurate periods of inactivity and operational time for equipment/machinery.
  • Plan a daily work agenda
  • Hourly monitoring of all non-operational machines and informing production supervisors.
  • Make certain that all gathered and documented data is precise and legitimate.
  • Quickly inform about any material unavailability to guarantee timely procurement.
  • Adheres to all EHS &T policies, procedures, and directives, including the proper use of safety devices and protective gear, timely reporting of any hazardous conditions, control and elimination of hazards, and immediate notification of injuries and accidents occurring during work.
  • Make sure that key performance indicators are recorded and communicated for equipment reliability, departmental efficiency, and the planning and scheduling business workflow.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience in maintenance planning after qualification.
  • Must be able to speak, write, and engage confidently in both French and English.
  • Must be prepared and ready to travel to certain West African nations when necessary.
  • Must hold a valid driving and operating license from Ghana.
  • Having a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is advantageous.
  • Planning & Scheduling, Project Management, and Control Skills
  • Should possess a solid understanding of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Capable of creating and executing adjustments to procedures that enhance outcomes, lower expenses, and remove waste.
  • Should possess a solid comprehension and expertise in scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Prepared to put in extra hours to meet strict deadlines.
  • Extremely driven with an optimistic, can-do mindset.
  • Effective communication and the ability to solve problems
  • Capability to collaborate with individuals and teams across all tiers of the organization.
  • Great attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and exceptional organizational abilities.
  • An optimistic and forward-thinking approach to collaboration and safety.
