Job Description
- Reports to: Senior Research Quality Associate in Accra, Ghana.
- Commitment Period: One Year (Renewable)
- Desired commencement date: 1 August 2024.
- Deadline to Apply: Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
About the Role
The Data Research Associate leads the Research Quality team’s data assistance, including programming, data administration, training, and system support for all departments in the country office.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and provide input to project teams about how to enhance survey questionnaires.
- Assist with survey development in CAI software (e.g., Survey CTO).
- Train employees to use programmed questions.
- Troubleshoot and fix difficulties with programmed questionnaires.
- Lead projects in developing applicable data quality checks to improve data quality.
- Lead projects to do data quality tests with Stata and other relevant tools.
- Assist project teams in creating processes for monitoring data collecting and implementing proper data backchecking, editing, and tracking procedures.
- Prepare for analysis by reviewing the clean data provided by project teams.
- Lead data analysis for the research quality team as needed.
- In coordination with the Research Quality team, give regular trainings to staff and partners as needed to strengthen their data management, Stata, data analysis, and other technical abilities.
- Monitor IPA Ghana projects to ensure they understand and follow IPA data management protocols.
- Perform any additional work-related duties that may be assigned.
Required Skill or Experience
- An undergraduate degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related discipline;
- Experience with several programming languages;
- Experience programming in Survey CTO is a plus.
- Experience using STATA or other statistical software is a bonus.
- Proven interest in and eagerness to learn new software and data management programs;
- Experience gathering data or working with a survey firm is beneficial;
- The ability to continuously follow protocol and directions.
- Excellent management, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Experience working for an international non-governmental organization is advantageous.
