Position Title: PORTFOLIO MANAGER

JOB PURPOSE:

• To find the best investment solutions for clients of Asset Management based on their goals and limitations.
• Make sure that the investment strategies for clients’ portfolios are carried out on time and correctly, and monitor the investment solutions every day.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES PORTFOLIO CONSTRUCTION AND ASSET ALLOCATION

• Creating and implementing investment strategies;
• Building portfolios and allocating assets based on the client’s goals and restrictions
• Reviewing investment opportunities;
• Keeping an eye on the portfolio and rebalancing it in response to changes in cash flows, benchmarks, market prices, and client guidelines.

INVESTMENT ANALYSIS AND DECISION MAKING

• A strong analysis of the economy as a whole;
• A regular look at investment opportunities;
• A review and analysis of performance every three months, along with the right decisions;
• Negotiating rates for fixed-income instruments;
• Monitoring risk and performance across client portfolios;
• Analyzing risk exposures and key market sensitivities of portfolio positions;
• Evaluating portfolio performance.

CLIENT RELATIONSHIP: 

• Make sure client investment accounts are tracked regularly;
• Check client cash balances every day and make sure available funds are invested;
• Keep track of client contributions, interest/coupon payments, etc.;
• Give clients at least a half-yearly presentation on the performance of their portfolios;
• Make sure portfolio reports are made and given to clients on time.

JOB CONTEXT:

The candidate will talk to a lot of business heads and high-net-worth clients of SWAM* and will be a big part of the firm’s business.

The job requires the person to be analytical and up-to-date on developments in the economic and financial sectors.

Qualification

• A college graduate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or a similar field;
• CFA chartered holder is a plus;
• Certification for the GSE Securities Course and other courses that are important Experience & Skills
• At least three to five years of experience managing a portfolio, with a good track record of how the portfolio has done;
• Having experience with managing funds in emerging markets, frontier markets, or Africa is a plus.
• Be able to look at investment opportunities and make good decisions about them;
• Be able to talk to clients and negotiate with them;
• Focused on customers and getting things done;
• Be able to bring together different resources to help customers;
• Good people skills and the ability to talk to others;
• Good skills in speaking, writing, and giving presentations;
• The ability to stay organized and keep track of time.
• Good and strong skills in negotiating
