Job Description

The Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) is seeking to recruit qualified and experienced individuals for the following positions.

1. Assistant Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist

Role Summary

The Assistant Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will be a member of the Center’s M&E team, responsible for the Center’s overall strategic performance and learning culture through the effective use of M&E information throughout its programs and projects. The Assistant M&E Specialist reports to the Director of Programs & Operations and is directly supervised by the Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist. Their responsibilities include monitoring and evaluating CDD-Ghana’s programs and research outputs, ensuring the Center’s strategic vision is maintained, and achieving desired outcomes in a cost-effective and timely manner.

Works with: Program Coordinator(s), Team Leaders of CDD-Ghana thematic program and operations clusters, Information and Technology Lead, and Communications Team Lead.

Required Education or Experience

  • University degree (bachelor’s or master’s) in statistics, public policy, international development, economics, or a similar discipline.
  • At least five years of experience designing and implementing Results-Based Management for development projects done by national/international and local NGOs/donors/funding agencies;
  • Experience creating tools and methods for data gathering, analysis, and report preparation.
  • Experience with statistical programs and/or data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, Excel Strata) and sophisticated computer abilities (word processing, spreadsheets, and databases are required);
  • Strong training and facilitating skills.

2. Program Officer

Job Summary

As a Program Officer, you will help create and implement the Center’s programs and projects as needed. You will be allocated to a team and will report to your Team Leader/Program Manager (PM) as well as the Director of Programs and Operations. You will also collaborate closely with other Programs and Research professionals to fulfill the Center’s mission and objectives.

Required Skill or Experience

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in social science, political science, international development, development economics, or another relevant discipline.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in an international, national, or think tank (development or research setting).
  • Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Highly proactive and adaptable, with the ability to manage several projects in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the capacity to successfully negotiate with a diverse variety of cultural knowledge.
