POSITION: Monitoring and Evaluation Manager

About us:

The Regenerative Development of Anlo Wetlands (ReDAW) Project is a mangrove restoration initiative that aims to combat climate change, increase local biodiversity and mangrove ecosystem health, improve the livelihoods of communities that rely on the lagoon and its wetlands, and generate carbon credits using the Verra VM03 methodology.

Regenerative Development of Anlo Wetlands is dedicated to environmental conservation and long-term replanting activities. Our objective is to restore and conserve crucial mangrove habitats throughout Ghana’s Volta Region. We believe in nature’s power and its ability to positively impact our planet. We are nature and solution-oriented, thus we do not utilize chemicals in our operations and continually strive for innovation.

Job Overview:

We are looking for a thorough and analytical Monitor & Evaluation (M&E) Manager to oversee data collection, verify compliance with the carbon framework, and manage monitoring and reporting for our mangrove reforestation project. The ideal applicant will create data frameworks, ensure that operations meet standards, and offer detailed reporting on project progress and outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

Data collection and creating data frameworks:

  • Develop and deploy data collection methods.
  • Create and manage data frameworks for the project.
  • Maintain accurate and timely data collection and entry.

Ensuring operations follow the carbon framework:

  • Monitor project operations to ensure they are in line with the Verra VM03 methodology.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with carbon credit regulations.
  • Provide direction and support to ensure that project operations are consistent with the carbon framework.
  • Obtaining and processing ecological and biodiversity data for the project.

Monitoring and reporting:

  • Monitor project progress using specified metrics and indicators.
  • Create detailed monitoring reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze data to determine project impact and areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, statistical science, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation, ideally in environmental or forestry initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of data collecting and analysis methodologies for environmental science.
  • Experience with GIS software.
  • Experience with carbon credit projects and understanding of the Verra methodology VM03.
  • Proficiency in English (speaking and writing); knowledge of Ewe is advantageous.
  • Capability to work in an international and diverse team setting.
  • Commitment to gender equality and female empowerment.
