Job Description

Plantations Socfinaf Ghana (PSG) Limited, based in Daboase near Takoradi in Ghana’s Western Region, seeks applications from qualified and interested people for the job of CHEF at its cutting-edge Senior Staff Recreational Center.

JOB SUMMARY

The position reports to the Recreational Center Supervisor and is responsible for cooking at the center in accordance with local and international standards.

Throughout the duration of work, the position requires diligence, honesty, integrity, loyalty to the organization, and the greatest level of cleanliness.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Required to follow the firm’s policies and operating procedures, as well as those that the company may establish from time to time, to accomplish its operations effectively and efficiently.
• Responsible for preparing high-quality, hygienic cuisine at the company’s recreation center.
• Ensure that the cooking tools and equipment, as well as the kitchen and surroundings where food is produced, are always clean according to all standards.
• Always maintain a nice and clean appearance.
• Ensure that appropriate food items are always available to meet the food needs of guests and customers.
• Perform any other duties given by the Recreational Center Supervisor as needed.

Required Skill or Experience

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Diploma in Advanced Catering/Catering II, or SSCE or WASSCE Certificate combined with a professional catering certificate.
• A minimum of five (5) years of post-qualification experience preparing local and international cuisines at a respected hotel or hospitality institution.
• Applicants must be residents of Cape Coast, Takoradi, or the surrounding area.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Nutritional resource management abilities.
• Knowledge of how to prepare a variety of dishes (both local and continental).
• Excellent interpersonal skills/team player.
• Knowledge of food control, particularly for expatriates.
• The ability to work under pressure with little or no supervision.
