POSITION: Sales Manager
The objective of the Position
The Sales Manager is accountable for leading the sales strategy, developing robust client relationships, and reaching revenue goals for Offshore Freight. This position is crucial for the company’s development and expansion in the mining and logistics industries throughout Ghana and the West African sub-region. The Sales Manager will guide a group of sales experts, guaranteeing outstanding customer contentment and cultivating enduring relationships.
Main Duties
Sales Approach and Business Growth
- Create and implement sales strategies to meet company revenue and growth targets.
- Recognize and seek out fresh business prospects in the Oil & Gas, Energy, Engineering, and Construction industries.
- Keep a comprehensive grasp of the market, encompassing rivals, sector trends, and consumer demands.
Client Relationship Management
- Develop and uphold robust connections with important clients and stakeholders.
- Serve as the main liaison for key accounts, guaranteeing client contentment and loyalty.
- Discuss and finalize agreements with clients, making sure terms are advantageous for the company.
Team Guidance and Growth
- Guide, inspire, and train the sales team to achieve and surpass goals.
- Offer guidance, instruction, and support to team members to improve their performance.
- Establish personal and team performance objectives, frequently tracking advancement and offering insights.
Sales Operations and Analytics
- Prepare and oversee sales projections, budgets, and strategies.
- Monitor sales performance indicators and create frequent reports for the Operations Manager.
- Work together with other departments to guarantee smooth service provision to clients.
Advertising and Brand Enhancement
- Collaborate with the marketing department to create promotional strategies and resources that improve the company’s exposure.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to showcase the company’s services.
Costing and Revenue Generation
- Create competitive pricing approaches that enhance profitability while ensuring market competitiveness.
- Observe market trends to spot chances for price changes or the introduction of new services.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, or a comparable discipline.
- Having an MBA or a postgraduate degree in a related field is beneficial.
Experience:
- A minimum of 7–10 years of sales experience in the logistics, freight forwarding, or mining sectors, including at least 3 years in a managerial position.
- Demonstrated success in achieving and surpassing sales goals.
Skills:
- Robust sales and negotiation abilities, with proficiency in effectively closing deals.
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and relationship skills.
- Skillful in CRM software and Microsoft Office programs.
- Capability to examine data and convert findings into practical strategies.
