Job Title: Project Manager
The Centre for Biodiversity Conservation Research (CBCR), the Wechiau Community Hippo Sanctuary (WCHS), and the Wilder Institute of the Calgary Zoo Foundation are looking for qualified people to fill the position of Project Manager.
This Partnership wants to make it easier for people in the Wechiau Community Hippo Sanctuary and nearby communities to build their skills, develop their communities, and work to protect hippo habitats. This will help make sure that community conservation efforts in the sanctuary will be successful for a long time.
Summary of the Job
The main job of the position will be to provide management, technical, and strategic direction for the project, as well as to design, develop, implement, and oversee project activities.
Place of Work
The Wechiau Community Hippo Sanctuary (80%) and the Centre for Biodiversity Conservation Research (20%) both have offices at the University of Ghana in Accra.
Needed Qualifications and Experience
- A Master’s degree or higher in Natural Resource Management/Environmental Management/Conservation, Biology, or another relevant field,
- At least five years of professional work experience, with at least three of those years in a management position;
- Proven experience in project management;
- Proven success in making project proposals;
- Good at getting along with other people;
- Good at talking and writing in English;
- Able and willing to travel locally every day;
- A good team player.
Location: Upper West Region
