POSITION: Quality Assurance Manager
The Quality Assurance Manager will be in charge of leading, guiding, planning, organizing, developing, and controlling all activities of the Quality Assurance function on the site following the business unit’s strategies and guidelines, to achieve short, medium, and long-term operational goals while adhering to customer requirements, rules, and regulations. Responsible for the operations’ quality, food safety, hygiene, and HACCP while ensuring that quality and food safety resources are used effectively and that the quality and food safety program (including surveillance, sampling, and monitoring activities) is prioritized.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute relevant information and ideas from a functional and local viewpoint to the regional quality assurance plan.
- Translate regional QA strategy into local strategy and plans, and promote implementation within your area of responsibility.
- Actively contribute to developing the local business strategy.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Quality Assurance & Food Safety
- Ensure that Quality & Food Safety services are delivered professionally daily to internal/external clients; directly intervene in some more tough quality concerns.
- Coordinate QA&FSMS activities with the rest of the organization, especially the operations and sales departments.
- Ensure complete compliance with internal and external financial and business laws, regulations, and statutory obligations, as well as external representation of the organization.
- Advise, coach, and train the organization and external clients on all relevant quality issues within the scope of duty.
- Manage the team, ensuring that employees are motivated, trained, and prepared to achieve goals in a positive social environment.
- Manage human resource planning to achieve immediate and medium-term company objectives.
- Obey statutory laws and regulations.
- Improve the department’s overall efficiency.
- Manage all projects relating to QA and FSMS.
- Lead the QA&FSMS Corrective Action Preventive Actions (CAPA) for many audits and visits.
- Help the R&D department with new recipe implementation or recipe transfer.
- Ensure quality and production team development to ensure that products are of high quality and food safety, meeting the expectations of customers.
- Support the production team to help reduce the volume of reworked products.
- Reduce consumer complaints.
- Effective budget management in the quality department.
- Optimise FTE and temporary staff in the Quality department.
- Discipline immediate subordinates in consultation with the Human Resources Department.
- Determines the training needs of immediate subordinates and plans or proposes training for them.
- Assesses subordinates’ performance.
- Performs any other duties as prescribed by superiors.
About You
- Master of Science or Engineering in Quality Management, Food Technology and
- Processing, Food Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Microbiology
- A minimum of 5 years post-qualification hands-on relevant working experience in Quality & Food Safety Management Systems in the food sector or in food safety operations leading, with at least two years in a senior management role.
- Capable of conducting audits and inspections, assessing facility compliance with food safety standards, and ensuring or preventing non-compliance.
- Capable of managing a varied team, motivating subordinates, and leading an HACCP team.
- Proven organizational skills, such as time management and the capacity to work under pressure.
- Strong understanding of the food processing business, including Food Safety Defense and HACCP, Project Management, and Change Management.
- Competent use of MS Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written, including report writing and presentation.
- Knowledgeable in SAP and Maximo applications.
- Maintains communication with group logistics, suppliers, and other key service providers, institutions, and authorities.
