Job Title: Network Manager

The Stanford Seed Transformation Network Manager is in charge of running and managing Stanford Seed engagement projects with Seed Transformation Program graduates in West Africa (STP). The Regional Director in Accra, Ghana, is in charge of the position.

Core Duties

  • Manage an ongoing engagement strategy for STP graduates all over West Africa with the help of the Stanford Seed leadership.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for STP graduates with Stanford Seed and manage all communications with STP graduates about the Transformation network and their ongoing relationships with Stanford Seed.
  • Help run the Transformation Network’s many events, such as networking sessions, speaker series, reunions, and so on.
  • Help out the local chapters of the Transformation Network (event support, scheduling member management, etc. )
  • Tools for managing virtual online communities are used to organize, engage, and grow Transformation network members. These tools are used to manage communications with the Transformation Network.
  • Lead Seed’s efforts to collect data on its impact by coming up with and putting into action plans to get important company growth data from Transformation Network members.
  • The Seed internship program in West Africa is your responsibility. Work directly with Seed staff to tell Transformation Network about the Stanford student internship program and to find internship projects in West Africa. Make sure that summer internships go well by talking with hosts and students often and finding solutions to problems. Work closely with the Seed team to connect Transformation Network members to other Stanford Seed opportunities, such as volunteer consultants, visits to Stanford University, invitations to conferences, etc.
  • Work with the regional team to help find new people to join the Stanford Seed Transformation Program.
  • Help Seed’s Director of Communications with some West African marketing and communication campaigns.

These responsibilities can be changed as needed to meet the needs of Stanford Seed West Africa’s business.

Requirements

If you want to do well in this job, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5–8 years of experience in the field, or a mix of education and experience in the field.
  • Exposure to or work experience in the startup ecosystem, particularly with organizations that help entrepreneurs.
  • Ability to grow organizational networks and work with multiple stakeholders, including collaborators and partners from outside the organization.
  • Work with business leaders who are willing to help high-potential entrepreneurs who are running early-stage startups.
  • Shown that they know how to use office software and email programs. Google Workspace tools (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides) and Microsoft Office programs must be used well (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Shown that they can set priorities, do multiple things at once, take charge, and work with little supervision.
  • Excellent organizational and management skills were shown.
  • Manage social networking sites like LinkedIn, Facebook, Workplace, Twitter, YouTube, and more.
  • Strong skills in both speaking and writing. Strongly prefer someone who speaks both French and English.
  • Excellent skills with customers, persuasion, and getting along with other people.
  • Also, the following requirements are preferred:
  • Experience with Zoom, NovoEd, Form Assembly, email automation software (like mailchimp), Salesforce, Asana, and website maintenance tools (WordPress, Wix etc),
  • Experience with online or blended learning courses or programs, either as a student or as a member of a team that teaches them.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills that allow them to talk to a wide range of people.
  • Shown that they can be strong, and diplomatic, have influence, build relationships, and solve problems in a variety of situations.
  • Strong understanding of how people work together and how their actions affect others.
  • Having experience in the fields of entrepreneurship and management is a plus.
