In order to be considered for admission to the following academic year, most fellowships start their annual application season in September of each year.

Institutions are especially asked to provide information about their Master’s programs that align with the priority topics for fellowships in the months before each new application round. Then, directories including a list of all programs accepted by the Department of Foreign Affairs as qualifying for fellowship awardees are made available to candidates.
