HEAD OF FINANCE NEEDED AT A RURAL BANK

A reputable rural bank in the Ashanti Region is inviting suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of HEAD OF FINANCE

ROLE SUMMARY

The Head of Finance is responsible for overseeing to the finance and accounting functions of the bank.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Firstly, Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
2. Secondly, Manage the Bank’s treasury functions to ensure that its liquidity and investment positions comply with internal and external directives.
3. Thirdly, Ensure compliance with financial and accounting policies and procedures and all other statutory requirements of the Bank.
4. Moreover, Prepare all supporting information for the annual audit and liaise with the Board’s Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee and the External Auditors as and when necessary.
5. Additionally, Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial and ac counting transactions.
6. Furthermore, Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for the general ledger, cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control and petty cash.
7. Then, Ensure the preparation of the Bank’s reconciliation statements and all subsidiary registers.
8. Also, Establish guidelines for budget and forecast preparation, and prepare the annual budget and use budgetary control processes to control performance.
9. Last but not the least, Manage the acquisition of capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded, amortised, and disposed of as appropriate.
10. Finally, Undertake other activities that may be assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, plus professional qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG), or relevant professional qualification, with five (5) years post qualification experience in middle to senior management capacity in the Banking or Financial Services industry.
• A Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Banking, Finance, Economics, Accounting or in a related field will be an added advantage.

PERSONALITY AND SKILLS

• Self-motivated and goal oriented person, with good resolve
• High sense of integrity, transparency and accountability Excellent interpersonal, leadership and managerial skills
• Budgeting skills
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and relevant Banking Software such as T24

REMUNERATION: Attractive and negotiable
