POSITION: Agricultural Superintendent
BACKGROUND:
The aim of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Department is to strengthen communities located within the GEGL pipeline right-of-way, placing special emphasis on individuals affected by projects (PAPs), particularly women and girls. Our main goal is to offer sustainable access to clean water, enhance health results, and promote economic development via agriculture.

OBJECTIVE:
The Agricultural Superintendent for Rural, Outreach, and Water (RoW) will be tasked with gathering, analyzing, and interpreting field data to facilitate informed decision-making. This position entails performing on-site investigations, evaluating operational conditions, overseeing on-site activities, and ensuring adherence to organizational standards and industry best practices. Considering the significance of agriculture in the CSR mission, this role necessitates practical experience in farming and agricultural methods.
MAIN DUTIES:
- Perform comprehensive field evaluations and risk assessments to pinpoint possible operational difficulties and offer suggestions.
- Gather, structure, and evaluate data from fieldwork, delivering practical insights.
- Make certain that every field task is performed safely, following company safety standards and optimal practices.
- Document and examine occurrences in the field, guaranteeing prompt resolution and accurate recording of corrective measures.
- Service and adjust field instruments to guarantee precision, dependability, and uniformity of gathered data.
- Facilitate training sessions for field staff on data-gathering methods, safety protocols, and applicable regulations.
- Oversee conformity with environmental, health, and safety standards throughout all field activities, guaranteeing compliance with both legal and organizational mandates.
- Offer suggestions for enhancing field operations derived from gathered data, analysis, and on-site observations.
- Help with any extra tasks or projects as asked by the Supervisor or Management.
- Keep informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to consistently improve the efficiency of field operations.
ACQUISITION
- Accountable for every Purchase and Service Order Agreement related to the scope of work.
- Make sure all required requests are submitted in the Procurement / Accounting system (Sage X3).
- Check on the disbursement of authorized funds.
FINancial MATTERS
- Help the Department Head create the monthly budget.
- Create and oversee all budget components, encompassing expense management and spending predictions.
- Make sure the budget aligns with the planned activities of the department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Studies, Data Analysis, or a similar discipline.
- Having a master’s degree is an advantage.
- Experience in farming is required.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- At least 8+ years of experience in field analysis, data gathering, agricultural programs, ideally within the Oil & Gas sector or for a non-profit organization.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Practical experience in conducting field investigations and overseeing compliance.
- Thorough understanding of safety regulations and operational standards in the field.
- Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS) or related mapping tools is beneficial.
- Skilled in statistical evaluation and report composition.
- Understanding of intercropping and small-scale agriculture.
- Capability to operate in difficult field conditions and adjust to evolving surroundings.
