Job Title: Project Engineer
Job Description
WSUP is looking for a driven self-starter to fill this fascinating and diversified position on the team. A project that intends to help will be implemented under the direction of a project engineer. Increase the effectiveness of Community Water’s piped water systems’ operations, and Western region Sanitation Agency (CWSA). This project will focus on particular piped Western area water systems, as well as enhancing the abilities of workers at the water national, regional, and systemic levels.
Principal duties & tasks
- Collaborate with CWSA in the Western Region and help them execute their vision to strive to become the benchmark for organizational effectiveness at CWS
- Help make decision-making more customer-centric.
- Assist in formulating plans with the Head of Water (based in the Secretariat, London).
- Projects that improve and supplement WSUP’s cooperation with Ghana’s water utilities,
- To increase their capacity to provide safe water to low-income clients while still operating as a performing utility that is financially viable.
- Oversee operations to meet project deadlines while ensuring that costs are within authorized funds and in compliance with regional legislation.
- Lead on the water system improvements in close cooperation with the CWSA water system management.
- Technical assessment of infrastructure assets and recommendations for needed improvements for a smooth operation.
- Work together with CWSA personnel to create and implement an asset management strategy system for specific water systems that the personnel can access and upgrade both at the head office in Accra and in the Western Region.
- Direct and assist the CWSA personnel at the model water systems.
- Design and fulfill its long-term, performance-based business plan.
- Participate in an energy assessment with assistance from CWSA employees and a water system consultant and carry out strategies for enhancing energy efficiency at the model water systems.
- Work together with CWSA personnel and a water system expert to carry out non-revenue using the IWA, conduct water (NRW) assessments, and create an NRW reduction strategy.
- Water balance ensures that the economic losses are taken into account together with tangible losses in fictitious water systems.
- Assist technical teams and the appropriate water system workers with their work.
- Construct and carry out an evaluation of critical maintenance logistic requirements to deliver and

- Evaluate the water safety strategy and collaborate with the regional staff to create a personal scheme.
Qualification and experience
- Working in water utility operations with management expertise
- Providing management of water systems. (A)
- Mechanical engineering degree or certification in water and sanitation
- A subject linked to engineering (A)
- Work experience in a variety of ethnic settings (I)
- Project management and planning expertise (A, I)
- Professional experience in low-income areas (LIC) (A, I)
- Participation in coordination meetings at the metropolitan level (I)
