POSITION: Field Service Engineer
This position will also help with the development, standardization, and implementation of technical training (including sales rep development/mentoring), application processes/protocols, and commercial tools, technical information capture, the development and dissemination of best-practice sharing, assisting in the preparation of commercial proposals, and leading the preparation of external case histories, technical presentations, and papers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintaining the highest safety standards to prevent workplace mishaps and accidents.

- Key Decision Makers and managing the necessary communication procedures at customer sites with key personnel.
- Working with additional team members and resource groups as needed to ensure client deliverables are reached and maintained.
New Work
- When considering new application and equipment projects, conduct an initial survey to determine unique customer site requirements. Being able to create and finish a proposal for trip planning, taking into account all administrative and budgetary considerations.
- Ability to assess unique customer site limitations and challenges, as well as understand and quantify the scope of work required for Solenis application and monitoring equipment to be successfully installed and commissioned on site, including additional parts, spares, tools, ad hoc work, and/or other miscellaneous tasks.
- Working with the engineering manager to guarantee that the procurement process for all project components is completed on time, followed by project planning, approval, and implementation from cradle to grave.
Routine work
- Complete all scheduled service requirements at our various customer sites on time and as directed by their management.
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure sales growth at each customer site.
- Work with salespeople to create day-to-day activities that will secure and increase our company.
- Ensure that all necessary communications with our customers are taking place, including inventory, testing, and equipment.
- Focus on removing routine testing and/or service chores from sales personnel.
- Provide all reports to customers in the format specified in a timely way.
- Respond to information requests from consumers and managers on time.
- Keep track of chemical inventory to ensure that no supplies run out. Make sure we have enough lead time for each product.
- Inspect all feed equipment to ensure there are no problems.
- First-level equipment maintenance.
- Troubleshooting details:
- Collecting samples from various process streams and conducting lab tests.
- Analysis for process water, process reagent applications, boilers, towers, osmosis, waste/tailing water, and other water treatment applications in the Heavy Industry sector.
- Reports and Data Management
- Calibration and cleaning of probes, scale coupons, and other system components
- Manual backwashing of side stream filtering systems
- Review, maintenance, and shock/slug dosing of chemical product stocks.
- Review of the operation of chemical measurement.
- Control equipment maintenance for laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
- Checking the operation of all equipment, including dosing pumps.
- Provide technical support for operators at WTP and STP plants.
Responsible Care, Environment, Health, and Safety.
- To comply with all EHS policies and procedures.
- To comply with all environmental regulations and procedures.
- Report all accidents, incidents, and near misses to their supervisor.
- Promote Responsible Care Principles.
- Participate in training as required.
- Participate in consultation on all EH&S-related issues.
- Maintain proper hygiene at all times.
The individual
- Higher or intermediate education in engineering is necessary, although equivalent years of experience can be substituted for a degree.
- Service experience in the water treatment or mineral processing industries is required.
- Customer focus refers to the ability to meet the demands and expectations of customers. Must be professional and confident while dealing with both internal and external customers.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a genuine willingness to serve.
- Electrical / Electrotechnical Workman’s Permit
- English and Portuguese are essential (native language will be an added benefit).
- Solenis gave field training.
- Driving license
