POSITION: Key Account Manager

About the Key Account Management Role

Your major goal will be to scale and manage these organizations’ businesses while helping them achieve their biggest goals. You’ll manage our key customer relationships and drive daily and strategic interactions.

Running a business is tough, and you’ll see your portfolio firms’ best and worst. The greatest Key Account Managers advise and relentlessly push for their portfolio firms. Because they instinctively understand the highs and lows of business ownership, they play the Key Account Manager role with great empathy.

You’ll analyze Paystack’s vast proprietary database to find market trends and make recommendations. We handle a huge percentage of Nigeria’s internet transactions, thus we have a deep grasp of many industries. Moreover, We need a partner who can naturally spot patterns in this significant dataset and share them internally and publicly.

We also want a teammate who loves learning about entire industries. To serve your portfolio of assigned clients, you must understand their business needs and industry. To help your portfolio companies succeed, you’ll research their industries.

Key Account Managers work with all Paystack teams. You’ll connect departments to ensure they’re working together to give our merchants and customers the best experience. You’ll see everything in the organization, so you’ll need to be a sharp, eloquent problem-solver who can handle your big duties.

What You’re Going to Do

You’ll:

  • Help your clients at mid-market and enterprise companies understand how to best use Paystack’s powerful product suite to reach their business goals and build long-term relationships with them.
  • Create account plans to help you win new business and grow the ones you already have.
    You can sell more of Paystack’s goods to your clients.
    look at both internal and external information to learn things that can be used in different ways.
  • Do some studies on different industries to learn more about how competitive they are and what threats and opportunities your portfolio companies face.
  • Handle tricky Tier 2 support problems brought up by companies in your portfolio.
  • Represent Paystack at trade shows, webinars, events, and demos.
  • Serve on one or more product teams and use what you’ve learned from the field to help decide which products to build and how to prioritize them.

What it takes to succeed in this role

You:

  • have a refined commercial sense and can rapidly grasp the fundamental drivers and strategy of our customers’ operations
  • have a talent for spotting and closing upsell opportunities are a skilled communicator: You can write and talk eloquently and persuasively, and you know how to convey complicated subjects to various audiences.
  • have prior client-facing experience, especially in a technology firm, and a track record of high performance
  • has a strong sense of ownership: you can be counted on to solve problems from start to finish while managing all stakeholders and delivering timely feedback.
  • represent the servant leadership principle: you have genuine empathy for business owners and are willing to go the additional mile to help them succeed
  • can analyze massive amounts of data, spot interesting patterns, and offer recommendations based on your findings
  • are perceptive and quick learners: you can rapidly comprehend the technology that underlies Paystack and use your knowledge to assist customers in reaching their goals. A Key Account Manager is the most knowledgeable about the Paystack product at the firm.
