Our direct procurement ensures traceability from field to factory, allowing us to drive sustainable practices throughout the Cashew supply chain.

The purpose of the function

We are hiring Finance Managers for our West Africa business to help our team in Ghana and supervise Burkina Faso to deliver financial excellence and strategic growth.

Job Responsibilities

  • Closing management and financial books monthly, reviewing balance sheets quarterly, analyzing variances, and adhering to reporting timeframes.
  • Review of physical vs. SAP reconciliation of all inventory categories, inventory value, cost of products sold reconciliation, grade-wise cost movements, and bin-wise cleaning out-turns.
  • Ability to track, comprehend, and assess trade positions, as well as manage risk associated with commodity trading decisions.
  • Comparison of budgeted and actual costs for direct costs, direct selling expenses, overheads, and interest.
  • Creating monthly M2M files, BRM, fair valuation files, gross contribution reconciliation, and weekly book values.
  • Prepare and submit management by exception reports.
  • Monitoring and reporting risk exposures for credit, counterparty, currency, positions, and price, as well as validating measures to mitigate operational risks
  • Monitoring payment efficiency and anchoring money planning throughout the procurement season.
  • Component-wise monitoring, analysis, and reporting of working capital variations versus budgets, as well as actively following up on subsidy receivables, trade receivables for collection, and slow-moving inventories for liquidation.
  • Reconcile bank, customer, and vendor reconciliation with confirmations/statements, as well as VAT, payroll deductions, and withholding taxes with statutory returns.
  • Conduct audits under local regulatory authorities, centralized audits by statutory auditors, internal audits, tax/customs controls, and cross-country audits.
  • Create profitability budgets based on drivers.
  • Validate CAPEX project proposals and investment thesis.
  • Maintaining transfer price documentation and ensuring compliance with policy.
  • Auditing procedures, controls, and financial authority matrix compliance.
  • Identify opportunities to maximize trade structured finance arrangements.
  • Anchor for all IT, digital, and ongoing business improvement efforts.

Education, Competence, and Experience

  • 7–8 years of finance experience in a similar-sized firm capable of handling $200-300 million in turnover.
  • A qualified finance professional with comprehensive financial education in derivatives, futures, currency, options, and trading. Equivalent qualifications would be CA or CPA (but with core experience of handling taxation IFRS/SFRS education and experience).
  • Experience with financial planning and analysis or as a Finance Manager.
  • The ability to learn in a dynamic and progressive setting.
  • Proficiency in English communication (both written and verbal) required to interact with worldwide stakeholders (Corporate Finance, Business Unit, Internal Audit, etc.).
  • Knowledge of French is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Mathematics and Microsoft Excel.
  • Capable of multitasking in a complex finance and operations environment.
  • Experience managing a multi-location finance staff.
  • Business Partnering Experience to Deliver Profitability and Business.
