Job Summary

  • As a part of the Corporate team, you will be the credit expert for nominated Relationship Managers working with a defined portfolio of high-value, complex, and sophisticated customer connections, as well as the conduit to Credit for sanctioning.
  • Understanding the demands of your customers allows you to develop practical and acceptable credit solutions (i.e. lending arrangements).
  • Deliver high-quality and consistent credit applications while giving suggestions.
  • Monitor and govern nominated accounts within designated portfolios; Maintain the integrity of credit reporting in contrast to the core banking system, and update financial data.
  • Work together with business colleagues to ensure client satisfaction and high-quality service.

Job Description.

Credit Risk Management

Time split: 60%.

  • Assess a customer’s business by analysing the business and credit risks involved with providing the Bank’s goods and services to the customer.
  • Create high-quality credit solutions to receive quick credit approval from credit teams.
  • Become the joint contact for credit management for accountants, attorneys, and other professionals.
  • Prepare high-quality credit applications with paper attachments for recommendation to the Sanctioner (the ultimate approval authority).
  • Responsible for managing the financial information generated by customers.
  • Monitor and control portfolio quality by employing ‘Condition of Sanction’ triggers whenever possible and in compliance with company standards and procedures. –
  • Discussing trigger events with the Sanctioner and alerting the Relationship Manager

Business Risk

Time split: 20%.

  • Work in collaboration with Relationship Managers on new and existing credit applications, providing recommendations on credit appetite and conferring with the
  • Credit team as needed.
  • Deliver services under agreed-upon company needs.
  • Collaborate with teammates to anticipate, respond to, and exceed consumer expectations.
  • Attend customer meetings with the Relationship Manager if credit-related issues need to be discussed and resolved.
  • Proactively participate in implementing agreed-upon change management activities in support of process and quality improvements, and cost reductions.
  • Contribute to industry focus as chosen by Corporate and Credit departments

Team Working

Time Split: 10%.

  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with Relationship Managers and Credit Managers.

Risk and Control

Time Split: 10%

  • Ensure that all operations and obligations are carried out in full conformity with regulatory requirements, the enterprise-wide risk management framework, and internal
  • Absa policies and policy standards.
  • Understand and manage role-specific risks and risk occurrences (incidents).

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas in Business, Commerce, and Management (Required)
