ROLE: Housekeeping Supervisor (Expatriate)
The holder of this position is in charge of directing and controlling day-to-day cleaning operations on the floors or in public areas in order to maintain the highest level of cleanliness. They support the Assistant Executive Housekeepers and the Executive Housekeepers with departmental planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the work assignments of both supervisory and non-supervisory employees effectively to guarantee that guests and other departments receive timely and polite service.
- Examine Public Areas / Floors to ensure that the furnishings, facilities, and equipment are clean and in good shape, well-kept, and replaced / refurnished as needed. If assigned to a floor, check rooms, particularly those assigned to VIP, V.V.I.P. and recognised return visitors, are given special care to ensure they match hotel standards.
- Coordinate with the other sections of the Housekeeping Department and other departments on any topics affecting the hotel’s physical appearance and room status, keeping them informed and following up on remaining issues. It could be a confirmation of the room’s state or the repair work that has to be done.
- When needed, support the Assistant Executive Housekeepers with recruitment, performance management, identifying training needs, developing training plans, and implementing training.
- Conduct monthly training sessions with existing staff to address the identified training gaps.
- Schedule routine inspections by supervisors of all housekeeping areas, including both occupied and unoccupied rooms.
- Control the use of all amenities and cleaning materials to ensure budget compliance and the proper use of equipment and tools.
- Assist the Assistant Executive Housekeepers in monitoring housekeeping processes such as Lost and Found, Key Control, Security and Emergency processes, and Health and Safety for employees and visitors.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
- Higher National Diploma or High School Certificate.
- 2 to 3 years of managerial experience in the housekeeping department, especially in a five-star hotel.
- Excellent verbal and writing skills
- Planning and organising skills
- Knowledge and skills in cleaning techniques
- Knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and machines.
- Knowledge of housekeeping practices and standards.
