POSITION: Finance Officer

Company Profile

Electrical Switchgear Limited (ESL) is an electrical panel manufacturing firm based in Ghana. We design and manufacture electrical low-voltage main distribution and control panels for industrial, commercial, and residential use.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The successful candidate will be in charge of overseeing accounts payable transactions, keeping correct financial records, and ensuring statutory compliance.

FUNCTIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounts Payable

• Process account payable transactions and keep the accounts payable ledgers up to date and accurate.
• Receive and check invoices, both domestic and foreign, to ensure that bills have been produced in the ERP.
• Ensure that transactions adhere to financial regulations and procedures.
• Ensure that all payments are appropriately coded.
• Ensure that all signed cheques are posted to ERP on a daily basis.

Maintain the accounting software

• Accounting journals, ledgers, and other records that reflect financial company transactions should be updated and maintained.
• Reconcile records with internal staff and management, as well as external vendors and customers.
• Recommend steps to address disparities.
• Examines problematic data.
• Compile data and produce various reports.

Financial audits, reports, and statements.

• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes.
• Maintain accounting records/files in order and accurate for all audits.
• Maintain periodic audits of all financial documents.
• Responsible for financial audit preparation and coordination of the audit process.

Ensure that all statutory duties are met.

• File monthly VAT, P.A.Y.E, and SSNIT returns. Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements.
• Responsible for tax concerns.
• Maintain the secrecy and security of all financial records.
• Coordinate with the supply chain to ensure that all invoices are posted on time in ERP.

Month-End Financial Reporting

• Provide monthly financial reports to management, including income statements and balance sheets.
• Monthly schedules for accounts payable positions in the accounting system
• Ensure timely reporting of all monthly financial data.
• VAT/NHIL payments
• SSNIT, TIER 2 and TIER 3 pension returns, as well as PAYE and TCC status.
• Carry out any additional duties

OSHA RESPONSIBILITIES

• Knowledge and adherence to all TAGG’s OHS&E procedures.
• Follow all safety procedures, rules, and directions.
• Risk Assessment
• Hazard Identification and Reporting
• Knowledge of the safe use of all tools and equipment, where applicable

Qualification & Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting and partially qualified (Part Three). Requirements include ACCA/ICAG certification and at least 3 years of related experience.
• Understanding of established accounting techniques and principles.
• Understanding of economic fundamentals
• Understanding of auditing procedures and principles.
• Knowledge of relevant laws, codes, and regulations
