Deakin University HDR RTP Scholarship / DUPR Scholarship 2024–25

International students can apply to Deakin University in Australia for the 2024 HDR RTP Scholarship or the DUPR Scholarship. Students can apply for scholarships to study at Deakin University for postgraduate degrees, including PhDs.

While Deakin University finances the DUPR scholarships, the Australian Government provides financing for the RTP awards. Students from both within and outside of the country are eligible for these scholarships. Only those who place highly are eligible to apply for the RTP scholarship.

Doctorate Degree Length

Three years’ stipend and four years’ worth of tuition costs are deducted.

International students of all nationalities are eligible to apply for this award.

Qualification Standards:

• Students must be enrolled in an HDR course of study at Deakin University, whether they are domestic or international, in order to be eligible for an RTP Stipend, RTP Fees Offset, RTP Allowance, or DUPRS.
• An applicant must not be receiving an equivalent award or scholarship from the Commonwealth intended to cover HDR fees in order to be eligible for an RTP Fee cover.
• In order for a student to be eligible for an RTP or DUPRS Stipend, they cannot be receiving more than 75% of their RTP or DUPRS Stipend rate from another source to cover their general living expenses while enrolled in their course of study. Income obtained for the student’s course of study but unrelated to it, or income used for the student’s course of study but not to pay for general living expenses, is not to be taken into consideration.

Method of Selection

Students will receive RTP and DUPRS Stipends as the outcome of a competitive process that is described in the ranking standards as follows. RTP or DUPRS stipend recipients will enroll as full-time, on-campus students.

Candidates needing an RTP or DUPRS stipend need to have:

• Fulfilled all other minimum entry requirements as stated in the Higher Degrees by Research (HDR) Admission, Selection, and Enrollment Procedure.
• Completed at least four years of postsecondary education studies. achieved 80% or equivalent in the research component of their previous study or an equivalent level of academic attainment, taking into account previous study, relevant work experience, research publications, and other research experience.

HDR students who are currently enrolled may apply for an RTP or DUPRS Stipend; their eligibility will be evaluated by the faculty or institute. After completing more than three years of their doctoral program or two years of their master’s program (or the part-time equivalent), currently enrolled students are not eligible to apply.
