POSITION: Financial Controller

Role Purpose

Manage the finance function by implementing professional and ethical financial procedures and services that provide high-quality, accurate financial information and reporting to support and allow business operations and decisions.

Requirements

  • Requirements for this position include a Masters’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline and 8 years of work experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in Finance,
  • Accounting, or a related field, and 12 years
  • At least 2–3 years of experience working in senior management.
  • Must be a chartered accountant (ICAG, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Experience in the insurance industry is advantageous.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage daily finance and accounting operations.
  • Coordinate and construct the annual budget, and financial predictions, and report deviations.
  • Prepare periodic reports to the CFO, EXCO, and Group Finance on business performance concerning budgets.
  • Lead the finance team through internal and external audits, including the creation of yearly financial statements.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reports.
  • Manage and adhere to legislative and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Implement corporate processes and accounting policies to keep and reinforce internal controls.
  • Ensure monthly reconciliation of GL accounts and timely resolution of reconciling items.
  • Liquidity management ensures that commitments are honored as they are due.
  • Develop and maintain connections with internal and external stakeholders, including fund managers and banks.
  • Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor that fall within the scope and context of the role.
