ROLE: Zonal Project Coordinators (ZPCs)
For project activities, the Zonal Project Coordinators will be required to travel both within and outside of their duty regions. Furthermore, they will maintain regular communication with the PCU, RPCs, chosen media outlets, traditional leaders, and community structures to resolve conflicts and promote social cohesion.
Location: These jobs will be in Tamale, Bolgatanga, and Wa, respectively.
Specific roles and duties:
- Assist RPCs in planning, implementing, and supervising social cohesion and community mobilization interventions under IR1.
- They will ensure that CARE, as the Prime Implementer, can meet USAID’s requirements for quality assurance, timely delivery, data collecting, and activity reporting, while also facilitating capacity building for RPCs and other community-based actors.
- Facilitate collaboration between RPCs and other entities, such as WAPs and CSOs, to ensure efficient delivery.
DUTIES
- The ZPCs will be needed to spearhead AGREE implementation on a daily and operational basis.
- General Coordination and supervision of Regional Peace Council operations, as well as the maintenance and management of authorized project work plans and milestones.
- Collaboration with M&E, Communication, and other PCU and partner staff is required to generate project data, timely reporting, and learning and documentation requirements.
- Support in creating scopes of work, terms of reference, and enabling community engagements for projects in local locations, as well as reporting project progress to PCU and stakeholders.
- Work with project teams and partner staff to create regular documentation and knowledge management systems to record project learning and best practices.
- Work with regional field teams to prepare and facilitate stakeholder meetings, dialogues, and visits.
- Assist project management in widely and effectively disseminating information and knowledge generated by the project.
- Collect, collate, and report conflict data into the Early Warning System for analysis in collaboration with community partners, leaders, RPCs, and volunteers.
- Facilitate the active involvement of women (WAPS), people with disabilities (PWDs), and adolescents in early warning, peacebuilding, and conflict resolution training, dialogues, and so on.
Required Qualifications or Experience
- Certifications and/or education
- A bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, particularly in community development, agriculture, social science, education, Conflict and Peacebuilding, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
Extensive Experience
- Three years of post-qualification experience managing community development projects.
- Participation and mobilization of the community.
- Experience in capacity building activities and working with communities, CBOs, traditional institutions, NGOs, and public sector organizations is preferred.
- Experience fostering connections, relationship development, and networking.
- Experience in smallholder agriculture, peacekeeping, and capacity building.
Essential Knowledge
- Social mobilization and communication
- Possession of a valid motorbike license.
- Leadership that is results-oriented and accountable
- MS Office suite – ITC capabilities

- Management of natural resources (land), culture, and chieftaincy
- Ability to converse in the project area’s local language(s) (UER, UWR, NR).
