POSITION: Account Relationship Manager
The British Council is seeking to hire an Account Relationship Manager to build relationships, identify needs, and enhance opportunities with key accounts to meet targets. The post holder is also required to proactively resolve issues, add value, and ensure the delivery of expectations to B2B customers.
Purpose of Role
The mission of this function is to develop connections, identify requirements, and expand opportunities with key accounts in order to accomplish business objectives. The role also requires proactive problem-solving, adding value, and meeting B2B client expectations. The job is responsible for carrying out the cluster key account strategy and plan on a daily basis.
Accountabilities
Commercial strategy
Uses an agreed-upon set of corporate processes, techniques, and report templates to perform routine monitoring and standard reporting on commercial data regarding sales, profitability, and/or co-funding and sponsorship opportunities.
Customer and market intelligence
- Ensures that product/sector knowledge is current and forward-thinking.
- Account and country-specific input is provided for market intelligence activities, innovation, and company development/marketing plan/targets.
Business success
- Account extension, cross-selling, and retention are all benefits of value addition.
- Brings up performance concerns, as well as why and how they are being remedied.
- Monitors capacity and pushes/pulls forward B2B2C sales to fill it.
Account and stakeholder administration
- Manage and deliver account plans throughout the year.
- Creates an out-of-year account plan
- Links with Operations team B2B support to set and review the quality of delivery to support account relationships.
Reporting & Analysis
- Regularly record, analyze, and report on operational activity levels and performance data using standard procedures and templates to assist senior management in making timely and effective business choices that respond to operational needs.
- As needed, contributes data to enable the creation and dissemination of high-quality, customer- and market-focused marketing collateral.
Management and leadership
- Prioritizes one’s own job activities, from long-term planning to day-to-day tasks.
- Builds relationships and uses influence to collaborate with others to build the business internally.
Minimum Requirements:
- Account client relationship management experience
- A proven track record of developing connections, identifying requirements, and expanding prospects with important accounts in order to fulfill corporate objectives.
- Creating and implementing commercial growth or marketing strategies in the education industry
- Working knowledge of UK test boards
Desirable
- Any appropriate qualification or a university degree in any discipline
- Knowledge of school examinations (CIE/Edexcel)
- Knowledge of other exam products (IELTS, Aptis)
