Wa Co-operative Credit Union (WACCU) is a financial institution registered under the Ghana Co-operative Societies Degree 252 of 1968. The Union was formed in September 1960 and has been operating in the Wa municipality for over fifty years now. It currently has five (5) branch offices which operate as semi-autonomous locations. WACCU currently has a total membership of about 10,000 members and a staff strength of 43.

1. Direct Sales Representatives
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prospect for and win new members for the Union in compliance with laid down policies & procedures
- Educate the general public on the various products and services of the Union
- Handle and help resolve problems of dissatisfied members of the Union
- Trekking to various communities to perform duties on daily basis
- Maintaining detailed records of all members handled and producing monthly reports on same
2. Assistant Banking Clerk
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform field level activities including prospecting for groups and individuals to join WACCU
- Manage Microfinance groups assigned to you
- Mobilize government workers to take loans with the Union by visiting institutions and educating the general public on WACCU operations and products
- Carry out susu collections within the catchment area as appropriate
- Handle complaints in the Union professionally
- Disburse and recover disbursed loans in line with policies and procedures
- Perform cashiering duties as required
- Cleaning of the office premises on daily basis

3. Credit Officer
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prospect for and win new borrowers for the Union and manage the loans granted in compliance with laid down policies & procedures
- Trekking to various communities to perform duties on daily basis
- Loan disbursement and recovery of disbursed loans in a timely manner
- Carry out in conjunction with the Head of Credit, inspection of properties pledged as collateral and prepare reports on same.
- Carry out adequate business verification and assessment of applicants businesses
- Booking of lien on members’ savings in line with loan guidelines
- To maintain the confidentiality of member information obtained in the course of the work
- Maintaining detailed records of all members handled and producing monthly reports on same

4. Internal Audit Assistant
- Conduct cash counts on monthly and intermittent basis
- Reconcile member accounts to resolve any discrepancies
- Review daily deposits and withdrawals of members’ transactions to identify errors and correct them
- Review on weekly basis, field cashiers reports and monitor their activities in the field
- Conduct pre-audit of loans and witness group loan disbursements
- Audit of bank reconciliation statements
- Write reports to the Internal Auditor
- Any other duties assigned by the Internal Auditor

5. Branch Operations Officer
Portfolio Management:
- To build a portfolio level relevant for branch sustainability
- To ensure that the Branch portfolio is of good quality
- To keep branch portfolio in good mix
- The spread loan risk of the branch
Moderate the formation of efficient groups for lending purposes
