POSITION: CWAR Strategic Buyer

Position Summary

Nestlé CWA is currently looking for a Strategic Buyer to oversee services and indirect material spending in the logistics category, as well as develop, validate, communicate, and implement sourcing strategies for locally managed categories under the Strategic Sourcing Process tools, templates, and policies. She/he would oversee the effective implementation of new or changing items/services, Procure to Pay channel management and new suppliers.

A day in the life.

• Defining and implementing plans for locally managed categories at the market level, leveraging the organization’s Strategic Sourcing Process tools, templates, and policies.
• Performing supplier market, category, and supply risk analysis; generating TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) information, as well as a map of how the sourcing process and channels work within the locally controlled category; and identifying areas for improvement.
• Preparing and carrying out negotiating events, seeking the best TCO contracts, and advantageous commercial arrangements with suppliers for the locally controlled categories.
• Ensuring compliance with Nestlé’s corporate values, rules, and standards, including the Procurement Policy, Procurement Standardized Model, Nestlé Supplier Code, Best Practices, and so on.
• Developing relationships with stakeholders to include category strategies and outcomes into local budgets and price planning procedures as needed.
• Nestlé’s innovation and renovation processes are being updated to incorporate supplier innovation, renovation, and post-award cost optimization features.
• In collaboration with SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) experts, lead the planning and execution of frequent contract SLA reviews with suppliers and other functional partners, such as quality.
• Ensure that appropriate contract management follow-up actions are in place (for example, SAP contracts, purchasing information records, master data, and so on).
• Leading cross-functional projects that will add strategic value by ensuring supply and improving the procurement process.

What makes you successful?

• Demonstrated experience implementing sourcing strategies for several spend categories over a sustained period (3-5 years).
• As a Sourcing Specialist, you should have experience in one or more spending areas and have used the Strategic Sourcing Process.
• Successful application of risk management, ethical sourcing, and supplier relationship management.
• Strong analytical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, negotiation, and business writing.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in the use of systems and software.
• The ability to adapt to new working practices or changes.
• Capacity to manage senior-level stakeholders.
• Excellent dispute resolution and leadership skills.
• The ability to speak and write in both English and French is an extra advantage.
