ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI (IDUAPRIEM) LIMITED (A subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti Limited) operates the Teberebie and Iduapriem open-pit gold mines in Tarkwa in Ghana’s Western Region, employing about 1400 people, including contractors.
Applications are solicited from ambitious, energetic, and performance-driven individuals to fill the following open positions:
1. Senior Mining Engineer – Drill & Blast
Role Accountabilities
- Create, train, and lead the open pit drill and blast squad.
- Create and manage systems to provide a safe workplace for all employees and external service providers working within the scope of accountability.
- Oversee and carry out processes to ensure that all environmental risks and developing hazards are identified and that mitigation plans are in place.
- Oversee and execute processes to ensure the establishment of optimized short-, medium, and long-term plans that ensure budget needs and operations strategy delivery.
- Ensure that resources are used efficiently to carry out the Drill and Blast Plan.
- Identify improvement opportunities in operational blueprints (systems, processes, procedures, and activities) to assure plan adherence, eliminate variation, and enhance cost-effective use.
- Manage and supervise systems for collecting, managing, and monitoring operational data.
- Manage and implement procedures for recognizing opportunities to improve operational excellence.
2. Senior Mine Planning Engineer
Role Accountabilities
- Complete any corrective activities assigned to you or within your supervision on time.
- Evaluate and control risks for all tasks before and throughout task execution.
- Report any issues and ensure that they are thoroughly investigated and corrective actions are carried out on time.
- Investigate all environmental issues in designated work areas and develop reports with suggestions for submission to the Environmental Manager or his representative by the Departmental Manager.
- Establish mine planning activities and schedules to track mining operations-ready tasks.
- Produce a 12-month mining calendar based on geotechnically re-sequenced stops, including diamond drilling activities.
- Create the mine planning MOS to interface with the whole MTS workflow.
- Create an optimized and achievable annual schedule with enough information (rates, resourcing, budgets, etc.) to assure delivery confidence.
- Inclusion of diamond drilling activity in annual plans
- As a Competent Person, create the mine’s annual reserves inventory and accompanying reports.
- Create quarterly, rolling forecast plans with enough specificity for the mining contractor to implement.
