About The Job
Project Maji is a Safe Water Enterprise (SWE) aimed at providing safe water access to remote regions in sub-Saharan Africa and other locations. We create and implement tailored solar-powered water solutions in the most isolated rural areas around the globe. Since 2015, Project Maji has supported over 300,000 individuals in Kenya, Ghana, and Uganda, providing millions of liters of safe water through our 310+ solar-powered water access facilities.
Project Maji primarily operates in the Ahafo region of Central Ghana. Eastern and Volta regions, and it is presently broadening its activities. Project Maji is looking for a Community Enrollment Officer for its Ghana office who will assist with community-level initiatives, enhance local stakeholder engagement, and affect water usage within the communities.
DUTIES
- Primary interaction between communities and Project Maji during community identification and everyday operations.
- Aid in the process of identifying new communities in need of enhanced water infrastructure.
- Involve community leaders and authorities to initiate and enroll them in a lasting partnership with Project Maji.
- Encourage and register households in communities to pledge to utilize Project Maji solar kiosk water as their main water supply. Instruct, oversee and assist community WASH committees and solar kiosk managers to deliver exceptional customer service and guarantee customer satisfaction within their communities.
- Working together with field technicians during installation or repair tasks to maintain uninterrupted operation.
- Inform the Project Director about advancements and obstacles.
- Facilitating collaboration among local stakeholders in the communities and assisting the Project Director in arranging workshops within districts.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- A bachelor’s degree at the least in public health, social science, or development studies.
- At least two years of experience in community service and familiarity with WASH.
- Must be a Ghanaian and proficient in Twi.
- Exhibit excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Show proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Proficient skills in writing and speaking English
- Readiness to engage in difficult-to-access communities
- Assured and interpersonal communicator; capable of seamlessly engaging with community members in individual, small group, and large group settings.
- Skill to operate a motorcycle.
- This role is primarily field-based, with 90% of daily tasks occurring in rural areas. (Situated in Goaso)
