Alberta Opportunity Stream Applications Paused: Focus Shifts to Priority Sectors | Canada Immigration Update
Alberta discontinued the Alberta Opportunity Stream for new PNP streams in tourism and hospitality. The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program has ceased the processing of applications for the aforementioned stream. AAIP took on this endeavor to combat current inventories while also addressing other significant problems. The restricted alternatives for immigration nominations will now focus on high-demand industries such as healthcare, construction, technology, agriculture, tourism, and hospitality.
This temporary stop became effective on February 15. However, the province will review any applications submitted through the Alberta Opportunity Stream before February 15.
