New Employment Opportunity at Sightsavers

POSITION: Climate change capacity building training Consultant

Overview

The programme to Empower Civil Society Representation of Women with Disabilities in Ghana commenced in May 2024 and is a 2-year initiative financed by the European Union. The initiative seeks to enhance the abilities of two co-applicants in management, communication, fundraising, coordination, advocacy, gender, climate change, networking, and financial accountability.

Sightsavers will enhance the capabilities of two co-applicants: Women with Disability Development and Advocacy Organisation (WODAO) and the Alliance for Better Advocacy and Knowledge (ABAK) Foundation. WODAO and the ABAK Foundation will then extend this capacity building to their members and partners, enhancing their capability to assert their rights and demand accountability from duty bearers. The initiative also seeks to create cooperative alliances with different Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), particularly those that concentrate on women’s rights, disabilities, and environmental/climate concerns.

Sightsavers is seeking proposals from organizations focused on environmental issues and climate change to deliver capacity-building training for the ABAK Foundation, WODAO, and their downstream partners (38 community-based organizations) in climate change and emergency readiness.

  • Instruct the attendees on practical, disability-inclusive methods to promote environmental sustainability in their everyday activities.
  • Provide participants with abilities to integrate climate adaptation into their programs.
  • Assist participants in grasping essential insights from the climate change analysis report that pertain to their project districts and how they might address them.
  • Kindly consult the ToR for a comprehensive overview of the schedule and outputs.
