POSITION: Estimation Engineer
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Estimation Engineer collaborates with suppliers and manufacturers, performs comparison analyses, negotiates technical and commercial elements, and provides value engineering services to align with clients’ budget limitations.
FUNCTIONAL TASKS & OBLIGATIONS
- Reviewing requests and dispatching quotations, proposals, and offers as necessary.
- Assessing requests, plans & timelines
- Sending inquiries to suppliers/manufacturers.
- Studies comparing quotes with rival companies
- Discussions with suppliers regarding both technical and commercial dimensions of the product.
- Providing value engineering services according to the clients’ budget limitations for each particular project.
- Keeping up with ISO documentation, records management, supplier/manufacturer information, and quotation files.
- Assigning tasks for quantity take-offs and verifying quantities for quotations as necessary.
- Costing for electrical/automation systems
- Creating pre-qualification documents, including both standard forms and project-specific questionnaires.
- Must maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) and act in accordance with the responsibilities outlined in the Departmental Manual.
OHSE DUTIES
- Familiarity with and compliance to all TAGG’s OHS&E protocols.
- Adhere to all safety work practices, guidelines, and directions.
- Risk Evaluation
- Identification and reporting of hazards
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree or comparable qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- At least two (2) years of experience in a comparable position.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Wise decision-making and sound commercial acumen
- Collaboration skills
- The capacity to form connections with clients rapidly.
- Analytical abilities and skills in problem-solving
- Should have excellent presentation abilities and be capable of conveying information professionally in written replies.
- Skills in communication and interpersonal relations
- Skills for solving problems
