POSITION: Shift Supervisor – Production
Role Details:
The Mining Department at Tarkwa Gold Mine is looking to hire a driven and skilled person for the role of Shift Supervisor – Production. The individual in this role will apply their knowledge to guarantee the secure use of designated equipment by subordinate staff, utilizing resources, abilities, and skills to achieve daily production goals.
Main Duties:
- Guarantee the accomplishment of both qualitative and quantitative results by effectively using the resources at hand.
- Start implementing cost-saving strategies and enhancing productivity for specifically designated projects.
- Foster a Continuous Improvement culture within the section.
- Examine all accidents/incidents and provide a report on them.
- Arranges staff and equipment to securely and efficiently meet daily goals.
- Inspects all assigned areas and verifies that proper work methods are adhered to.
- Conduct daily toolbox meetings safely and report on them.
- Ensure a secure and eco-conscious work setting.
- Utilize expertise and experience to address issues throughout the shift.
- Exhibit complete comprehension of topsoil and waste disposal management.
Key Requirements:
- Higher education in Mining Engineering or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
- At least five (5) years of experience as a Supervisor in a surface mining operation (Open Pit).
- Should possess in-depth understanding of relevant Mining Regulations.
- Experience in Surface Mining is required.
- Minimum requirement: Mine Captain and Supervisory Skills Training Certifications.
- Cultivate effective communication skills and the capability to engage with individuals from various cultures and backgrounds.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing and able to obtain a site driver permit.
